TradingView Strategy Optimizer — browser extension · Last updated: 26 July 2026
TradingView Strategy Optimizer ("the extension") automates backtest parameter sweeps on tradingview.com. It is licensed software: the only data it handles beyond your own browser is the minimum needed to check a license key. This page explains exactly what that is.
What the extension collects
- License key — the key you type into the panel.
- Random browser ID — a random identifier the extension generates once per browser install. It is not derived from your hardware, accounts or browsing, and identifies nothing but the browser profile the extension runs in.
- Browser type — whether the browser is Chrome or Edge (used only for free-trial keys, which are limited to one browser).
These values are stored locally in the extension's own storage and are sent over HTTPS to our license server (server.turboalgo.in) when the extension checks the key or authorizes an optimization run. Panel preferences and interrupted-scan session state are also stored locally and never leave the browser.
What the extension does NOT collect
- No TradingView account credentials, cookies or session data.
- No chart data, strategy code, backtest results or watchlists.
- No browsing history, page content or keystrokes outside the optimizer panel.
- No analytics, advertising identifiers or third-party trackers of any kind.
What the license server stores
For each license key: plan, status, expiry, trial-run counters, the bound browser ID for trial keys, and the time of the last check. Standard request logs (request outcome and IP address) are kept for abuse prevention, and routine check rows are pruned periodically. When you purchase a key we also record the contact details you give us (such as your name and phone number) so we can issue and support your license.
How the data is used
License enforcement only: validating keys, counting free-trial runs and preventing key sharing. The data is never sold, rented or shared with third parties, never used for advertising or profiling, and never used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Data removal
Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored locally. To have your server-side license records deleted (for example after your license expires), contact us and we will remove them.
